Questions about working with a data service
Everything you need to know about how PyScraping projects work, from platforms and formats to turnaround, pricing, and compliance. If your question is not here, just ask.
How do I start a project with PyScraping?
Send us your requirements through the contact form: the platform or URLs you want, the data fields you need, how often you need updates, and your preferred delivery format. We review every request within 24 hours and follow up with a scoping proposal or clarifying questions.
What information do you need from me to scope a project?
Four things make scoping fast: the target (which platforms and exactly which URLs or queries), the fields (the specific data points each record must contain), the frequency (one-time, weekly, daily, or continuous), and the format (CSV, Excel, JSON, API, or direct database delivery).
Do you offer one-time projects or only recurring ones?
Both. Some clients need a single research export; others need a recurring feed that refreshes on a schedule. We scope the engagement around whichever fits your use case.
Which platforms do you support?
We cover the major e-commerce and social platforms that matter for commercial intelligence, including Amazon, eBay, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and more, plus custom websites. If a source is publicly accessible, we can usually build a workflow for it.
Can you scrape a website that is not on your list?
Yes. Custom sources are a core part of what we do. Send us the target URL and the fields you need, and we will scope a custom collection workflow for that site.
What data fields can you collect?
It depends on the source, but typically product titles, prices, discounts, availability, seller information, ratings, review counts and content, public profile and listing data, and category structure. We collect the specific fields your use case requires rather than everything on the page.
What formats can you deliver data in?
CSV, Excel, JSON, an API-ready feed, or direct delivery into a database, whichever plugs into your workflow. Non-technical teams often start with a scheduled CSV; technical teams usually prefer JSON or an API feed.
How fast is turnaround?
Most standard projects are delivered within about 48 hours of a confirmed scope. Larger or more complex builds may take longer, and recurring projects run on whatever schedule you set once they are live.
How do you handle data quality and site changes?
We normalize fields so the same data lands the same way every cycle, and we agree up front on how missing fields, dead pages, and layout changes are handled. For recurring projects, runs are monitored and reconciled so a broken page does not silently corrupt your dataset.
How does pricing work?
Subscription plans cover a monthly volume of scraping tasks through the dashboard, and larger or bespoke projects are scoped individually. See the pricing page for plan details, or contact us for custom volume and done-for-you work.
Is web scraping legal?
Most commercial scraping focuses on publicly accessible, non-personal data, which is generally treated very differently from private or gated information. We collect responsibly, respect platform terms and reasonable rate limits, and avoid circumventing access controls. This is not legal advice; for your specific jurisdiction and use case we recommend confirming with your own counsel.
Can I cancel or change my plan?
Yes. Subscriptions can be managed from your billing dashboard, and you keep access through the end of the period you have already paid for.
